Frequently asked questions
Do you do custom orders?
Unfortunately I am not able to offer custom orders. I only buy fabrics in small quantities and don't keep a large range of fabric on hand.
Can you make clothes to fit my specific doll?
I am only able to make clothes and create patterns for dolls I actually own. If you don't see a category for your brand of doll in my shop then unfortunately I am unable to make clothing to fit. However, if you take measurements from your doll and compare it to the size charts on the site you may be able to find something that would fit your doll.
How much is delivery and which service do you use?
Postage is £2.50 for orders under £25 and free for orders over £25. Orders are sent via the Royal Mail Tracked 48 service.
Are your dolls clothes actually handmade?
Yes! All clothing is sewn by me and the knitted items are made by my mum. Check out the blog to see photos of my sewing machines, process and comparisons of my dolls clothes compared to mass produced dolls clothes made in China.
How can I contact you?
You can contact me via the link at the top of the page, the bottom of the page or by emailing info@maisiesmakesfordolls.co.uk
When can I expect my order?
All items are in stock and will be dispatched within two working days, so you can expect your order to arrive in around 3 to 5 working days. This may be longer during the Christmas period.
Can I get my order faster than that?
Yes, when you checkout you will have the option to upgrade to Royal Mail Tracked 24. This costs £4.50 whatever the value of your order. If you choose this option we will try our best to get your order out ASAP. You can expect delivery within 1 to 3 days.
How do I wash my dolls clothes?
All our clothing is machine washable at 30 degrees C and can be tumble dried, although I recommend line dying to help prolong the life of your dolls clothes. Please ensure any velcro tabs are securely closed before washing to stop them sticking to other items. Clothes can also be hand washed. Most of our clothing can be ironed, but take care not to iron over velcro, snaps or transfers.
All fabrics are prewashed before sewing and knitted items are washed after completion, which means our clothing won't shrink or warp when you wash it. This also helps to remove excess dye, but for some fabrics, such as dark coloured denims or anything red, dye may still remain so they should be washed with like colours.
