The round neck collar dress is a new addition to our shop this spring! It is a slightly old-fashioned styled dress with short puff sleeves and of course, the round collar, which makes a change from the usual Peter Pan style collar commonly used on baby dresses. The dress fastens at the back with velcro. It also comes with a matching pair of bloomers. It is made for 15-16 inch size baby dolls (38-40cm).
In this post I have taken photos of the dress on several different types of doll so you can see how it might fit on your own doll.
The first doll is one of my largest dolls, the Minikane Les Bambinis doll, Augustine. She is 47cm tall, so quite a bit taller than the size of doll that this dress would fit. It is a short fitting dress so it's even shorter on her, but I think it looks acceptable. The sleeves are a good fit around her arms.

The next doll is Baby Born, who is 43cm tall. Despite being shorter than Augustine, I think the dress actually looks even shorter on Baby Born. It is really too short but again, it looks acceptable, especially since it has the matching bloomers with it. The sleeves fit well and it closes fine at the back.

The Baby Born Big Sister doll is the same height as Baby Born, but I her proportions are slightly different and she has longer legs. The dress is clearly too short on her. I think it looks okay on Baby Born and on the Minikane doll because they are baby dolls, so short dresses are fine. But on a child doll like Big Sister it just looks like she is wearing a dress that is too short. It doesn't look awful from the front when she is in a sitting position, so might be okay for a photo shoot or if you are displaying the doll sitting down.

The Missy Kissy doll is actually the perfect height for this dress, but unfortunately she has a very chunky neck, so you can't fully fasten the dress at the neck. The dress fastens enough so that it won't fall off, so you could maybe hide the fact it doesn't fit at the back by putting a cardigan on her.

The Berenguer Boutique soft-bodied La Newborn doll is also the perfect size for the dress. Note that the soft-bodied doll is slightly larger than the all vinyl La Newborn doll. I believe the doll with the vinyl body is 14 inches. I don't own one of those dolls so I can't say how well it would fit on them.

She looks very odd in a sitting position. I think it's because she's a newborn baby, and newborns can't sit on their own.
One issue to note with the La Newborn and also some other soft-bodied dolls is that you can sometimes see the fabric from their soft body above the neckline of the dress. All the Berenguer soft-bodied dolls I own look quite messy where their vinyl head is attached to their soft body. Baby Annabell also has a soft body but her neck is much neater.

Baby Annabell is 43cm like Baby Born and Big Sister, but has a chunkier body. A lot of the clothes that fit Baby Born will also fit Baby Annabell. This dress is definitely too short for Baby Annabell, but it fits the arms and closes fine at the back. Again, since Baby Annabell is a baby doll type, I think you can get away with it, especially if you are going to have her lying in a pram or a cot rather than sitting up. Baby Annabell isn't great at sitting on her own anyway. You can see in the photo taken of the back view that the dress isn't long enough to tuck underneath her at the back when she's sitting.

The Berenguer Boutique Twin doll is a good size for the dress. Her arms are a little bit shorter than other dolls arms, so the sleeves don't sit quite where they should, but it fits her well otherwise. This doll has a smaller body than the Newborn Berenguer doll so it doesn't fit her quite as well as it fits the Newborn doll.

Although the Minikane doll is 38cm tall, she doesn't really have a baby doll body type. She's quite long and skinny, so this dress doesn't fit her at all. At first glance it doesn't look too bad, but you can see from the back view that it's very wide. Surprisingly, despite her skinny body, the bloomers actually fit okay around her waist.

It's a bit silly, bit I decided I'd try the dress on the Minikane doll because although she is shorter than the Miniland doll, her body is quite a bit chubbier so I thought it might fit. I was very wrong! The sleeves look like they're actually long sleeves on her and it's almost floor length. I'm sure if I was six I would think this dress looked beautiful on the Minikane doll!

Overall, this dress fits the Newborn Berenguer Boutique doll best. If you don't mind it being too short then it works well for Baby Born, Baby Annabell and the Minikane Toddler doll. It's definitely too big for Miniland and Minikane dolls. For the larger dolls, it might work well worn like a top with leggings or tights.
It's hard for me to pick a favourite but I think it might be the floral dress with the cream collar and matching cream bloomers. I will definitely be making more of these dresses in the future and I think I will make a longer length version that fits Baby Born and Baby Annabell better.
